PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Utilising its equipment, engineering systems and more, Mocbastas performed a full range of facility construction works for Yandex. The project comprised of engineering operations, building inspection measures and commissioning, with facility construction completed in just 11 months.

UNIQUE COOLING OF TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT
The new Yandex data centre is the first facility in Russia where no additional air cooling is used for equipment functioning. The absence of additional cooling equipment means there’s no need to divert energy for cooling, making it possible to reach very efficient power usage effectiveness ratings, equal to 1.07 for full module.
SCALABILITY
Scalability is provided on location, therefore permitting alteration of the site’s IT-capacity from 4 to 40 megawatts through constructing additional modules. In accordance with the project, the facility utilities are designed to support three similar data centre modules (5 IT-modules) in each.
Ready-to-use site elements and the possibility of their element-by-element assembly on-site ensures rapid construction of similar facilities in other regions as well.
DRAINAGE SYSTEM
Significant volume of groundwater and a high water table in the area led to a drainage system need for surface water disposal, including gabion usage.
A storm water system with a sewage treatment plant and a pump facility was also built, with treated water drainage operating through directed horizontal drilling.
EFFICIENT ENERGY SUPPLY
The efficient energy supply of the facility is provided by its connection to a 110 kilowatt electrical network, which minimizes power outage periods and electrical loss, in addition to reducing electricity costs.
